McBryde GardenMcBryde Garden is a veritable Noah's ark for threatened and endangered plants of the tropics. Located in the verdant Lawa`i Valley on Kaua`i, the "Garden Isle." It is home to the world's largest collection of native Hawaiian flora outside the wild, as well as extensive plantings of palms, flowering trees, heliconias, orchids, and other plants collected from tropical regions. The Garden contains a major Conservation and Horticulture Center, with nursery and micropropagation laboratory, and is adjacent to NTBG's National Headquarters, with a research and education facilities, and the Allerton Garden.Self-guided tours available daily. Tram departs to garden every hour on the 1/2-hour 9:30-2:30 pm Daily. No reservations needed. Other areas of the McBryde Garden are offered as part of the guided Ho`ike Tour, which also includes parts of the Allerton Garden. Reservations can be made online at mcbryde.ntbg.org.
