Discover Kauai on a Bike

Flat roads and a lack of big hills (except for the road up to Kokee State Park) make it easy to ride a bike around the island. The Poipu area and the cane road (dirt road used for hauling sugar cane) between Kealia Beach and Anahola, north of Kapaa are great places to ride. Mountain biking is possible on Kauai, and based on your skill level, you can bike easy, moderate, or steep. Wailua Falls, Mahaulepu Beach, Moloaa Beach, and the Spalding Monument are some of your landmarks along the way. You can also bike the island through one of the local outfitter's tours.

Always wear a helmet, gloves, appropriate bike shoes, and sunglasses and travel safely. Take a map, water, snacks, sunscreen, bike repair kit, and any other accessories that will ensure a friendly, uneventful, but wonderfully scenic ride.
