![]() Opaekaa Falls in Wailua, KauaiCascading down into a hidden pool, this lacy waterfall
is easily the island's most accessible major waterfall.
About 2 miles up Kuamoo Road (Route 580) from Hwy. 56, signs clearly point to the lookout on the right. "Opaekaa" means "rolling shrimp", which were once abundant in the stream. Walk uphill and across the road for another view of the Wailua river valley and interior plains beyond.
